In partnership with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), MARC is hosting a scenario planning workshop on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Registration and continental breakfast start at 8 a.m.)

During the workshop, you'll participate in discussions to help develop a common understanding of possible futures for the region and how to integrate our plans and strategies.

We will build on work done in two previous workshops where we examined potential driving forces and how they could impact the region. Based on those conversations, we'll discuss and analyze how these alternative futures might materialize and how we can connect them to our regional vision for sustainable growth and development.

Presenters for the workshop include representatives from peer agencies:

• Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission
• Maricopa Association of Governments
• Wasatch Front Regional Council

All three peer organizations have significant scenario planning experience and have leveraged this process to improve their planning practices. They will share their perspectives and observations about how scenario planning can be valuable to current initiatives in our region.

This workshop is sponsored under the FHWA Scenario Planning Program which provides a variety of training, resources, and technical assistance to agencies interested in scenario planning.
