In addition the East Kansas City Industrial Park is currently undergoing a major expansion of approximately 35 acres. Motorists from several nearby subdivisions such as Eagle Ridge and Woodbury. Other motorists passing through or accessing many other businesses located along this route. Proposed path would provide active transportation to the residential areas as well as non motorized access to the businesses.
Scope: Rebuild existing roadway with curb and gutter, drainage, turn lanes, improve sight distance at several intersections and drives. The existing roadway is in need of rebuilding even without these needed improvements. The road way is narrow (20) for large truck traffic. Poor drainage has contributed to several areas of cavities and sloughing of the pavement. A shared path is envisioned to provide safe access and use for bikes and pedestrians. Turn lanes are needed at Tyer Road, Eagle Ridge Blvd., Casey Blvd., Pamela Blvd., East Kansas City Industrial Blvd., Valley Ridge Dr., Bush Dr., Jefferson Court and additional turn Lanes at Route BB. Improve sight distance at driveways and intersections by lowering the grade of Jefferson Road by removing hills.
