Project Description: Existing Jellison Road is a two lane Minor Arterial natural road section at the north end of Adams Dairy Parkway. This project would complete the Parkway from Pink Hill Road, an arterial road at the northern border of Blue Springs, to Wyatt Road in the southern portion of the City. The existing roadway is a remnant county road. This project would involve complete streets upgrades, widening the roadway and adding multi-use trails for active transportation activities. The Parkway is one of three north-south arterial roadways which connect to I-70. In 2020 the City made improvements to Roanoke Drive for 1/4 mile to the east of this intersection.
Scope: This project will serve pedestrian, passenger vehicle, and freight traffic. The length of roadway is 2,750 LF and will be a continuation of the complete streets section existing to the south. Two lane with warranted left turn lanes where applicable. Sidewalk and shared use path will be incorporated into this upgrade. Intersection improvements and sight distance improvements are part of this project. This will result in a safer road section with ditch sections removed, wider travel way with curb, storm sewer additions with curb inlets and buried pipe.
