This extension will support residential development in the SW corner of the city. The project will incorporate both a sidewalk and Bike/Ped pathway to facilitate movement of people to shopping in vicinity of 10th/Eisenhower as well as travel to schools (Leavenworth School District). There is currently no transit service in Leavenworth, however the roadway and right-of-way would be sufficiently large to accommodate future transit operations.

Project Description: Two lane suburban arterial with left turn lanes at major intersections designed to modern standards with bicycle and pedestrian modes considered in the initial design. Expected to be designed to modern roadway standards, include both a sidewalk (5) and trail (8-10), incorporate modern water quality and water quantity features.
Scope: Modes - (1) Vehicular Traffic, 4200 feet between Tongonoxie Road and 175th Street. One lane each direction with left-turn lanes at major intersections. Designed to support access to existing and expected residential housing in the area, (2) Bike/Ped - designed from the start to accommodate bicycle and pedestrian users.
