This extension will support residential development in the SW corner of the city. The project will incorporate both a sidewalk and Bike/Ped pathway to facilitate movement of people to shopping in vicinity of 10th/Eisenhower as well as travel to schools (Leavenworth School District is north of this roadway, Lansing is South). There is currently no transit service in Leavenworth, however the roadway and right-of-way would be sufficiently large to accommodate future transit operations.

Project Description: Two lane suburban arterial with left turn lanes at major intersections designed to modern standards with bicycle and pedestrian modes considered in the initial design. Possible traffic signal at both 10th Street and 20th Street if warranted. Expected to be designed to modern roadway standards, include both a sidewalk (5) and trail (8-10), incorporate modern water quality and water quantity features.
Scope: Modes - (1) Vehicular Traffic, 5400 feet between 10th Avenue and 20th Street. One lane each direction with left-turn lanes at major intersections. Designed to enhance the appeal of residential housing in the area, both current and future. (2) Bike/Ped - designed from the start to accommodate bicycle and pedestrian users.
