127th Street east Parker/K-7 and west of Hedge Lane is classified as an arterial street. This new link connection would help alleviate the traffic demand for nearby arterial streets such as Santa Fe Street and 119th Street. Any new connecting link would be constructed with options for bike lanes, shared use paths, sidewalks, and transit facilities to encourage different transportation modes. This 127th Street connection would likely be a safer corridor for none motorist commuters to travel.

Project Description: Construct new arterial link of 127th Street from Hedge Lane to Parker/K-7 Hwy. All modes of transportation would be targeted to use this new link as bike, pedestrian, and transit facilities would all be incorporated with this project.
Scope: Construct new arterial link of 127th Street from Hedge Lane to Parker/K-7 Hwy. All modes of transportation would be targeted to use this new link as bike, pedestrian, and transit facilities would all be incorporated with this project. Project Length is approximately 1.0 mile long. New planning and land development could occur in this corridor in the future. Currently is owned by the City of Olathe and is used as a dump site. The new roadway would be constructed to arterial street standards with a 3-lane section with bike lanes and turn lanes.
