Project Purpose: * System expansion (added capacity) * System preservation, rehabilitation or replacement * System operations and management )
Project Description: As Cass County has continued to grow, there has become an increasing need for an additional interchange from I-49 in northern Harrisonville. This interchange will provide full and more efficient access to the Cass Regional Medical Center, the only hospital serving central and southern Cass County. The proposed improvements will also allow new and improved access for freight entering the community and paratransit trips for health care.
Scope: The proposed I-49 & Rockhaven Road interchange will serve all modes of traffic when constructed. The County proposes to construct a new three lane bridge over I-49 with sidewalks and multi-use pathway. The project lenght will be approximately one mile as acceleration/deceleration lanes along I-49 are constructed as well as interchange ramps in all quadrants. Improvements will be made to the connecting outer roadways for accommodating future multimodal traffic. Roundabouts and other traffic imrpovements will also be considered to enhance safety for the entire project. We expect this project to greatly improve access for all needing health care and medical attention at the major medical facilities of Cass County.

Mr. Hustons description and scope is spot on. This project would be beneficial to Cass County and the City of Harrisonville, and all accessing the area, both currently and in the future.

this project is vital for EMS and access to the Cass Regional Medical Center, due to the hospitals proximity to I-49 the addition of ramps to this overpass would make a much faster approach to the hospital
