The project will incorporate multimodal systems to accomodate transit, pedestrian and bicycles in order to maximize mobility throughout the corridor. The project will encourage walkability and transit access where they do not currently exist. The facilities will provide connection to existing sidewalks and multi-use paths. The roadway will be reconfigured as required to provide median width that could accommodate Bus Rapid Transit if necessary in the future.

Project Description: Streetscaping and hardscaping to create a more favorable pedestriam realm along Metcalf from 87th Street south to I-435 in alignment with the Citys Vision Metcalf plan. Primary users will be pedestrians, transit riders, and bicyclists.
Scope: The project will serve pedestrians and bicyclists that use the 2.75 mile corridor in alignment with the Citys Vision Metcalf Plan. Sidewalks will be built to connect to existing sidewalks in the area. Intersections will be upgraded to accommodate pedestrians. Streetlighting will be reconstructed as required. The roadway will be widened to accommodate wider medians for a possible future Bus Rapid Transit line.
