Project Description: The project will improve capacity and safety for motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists and freight movement. The project will also facilitate property development in the immediate area while serving as a parallel alternative route to an increasingly congested Interstate 470 with adjacent interchanges at Colbern Road/M-291, Strother Road, and Woods Chapel Road.
Scope: The 2.6 mile project will widen an existing 2-lane rural roadway that has paved shoulders to a four-lane divided urban street with curb, sidewalk, paths, lighting, and turn lanes.
