119th street is an arterial road that connects residential developments to settler park. With an enhanced roadway system transit routes can be expanded.
Project Purpose: * System expansion (added capacity) * System preservation, rehabilitation or replacement )
Project Description: Widen 119th Street, between Iowa and Lone Elm from 2 to 4 lanes. (Approximately 1/2 mile) Adding additional thru and turn lanes. Installing bike lanes. Installing sidewalks and shared use paths. Expected outcomes are added capacity, reduced and more reliable travel times, safer travel for all modes of transportation.
Scope: *Widen 119th Street, between Iowa and Lone Elm from 2 to 4 lanes. (Approximately 1/2 mile) This will add capacity for motorists and improve travel times. Adding turn lanes at each intersection will also improve safety & capacity. *New Sidewalk or Shared Use Path constructed on each side of the street will provide safety for pedestrians and bicyclists.
