9. Project description: Improve Colbern Road between Douglas Street and 350 Highway. Improvements include widening the existing two-lane rural road to four-lane median divided urban street with turn lanes, bridge replacement and pedestrian and bicycle facilities. The roadway is currently in poor condition and there are no accommodations for non-motorized transportation.
10. Scope: The project will enhance safety, increase capacity, encourage economic activity and accommodate all modes of traffic along the 1.67 mile project. The rural, narrow, two lane roadway without shoulders will be reconstructed and widened to a four lane, median divided, curbed road with lighting, sidewalks, shared use path, and intersection improvements along the corridor that is mostly undeveloped and recently annexed from Unity Village to Lees Summit for economic growth.
11. Project schedule: Design and property acquisition in 2019-2020. Construction in 2021-2022.
