133rd Street east of Mur-Len Road is classified as an arterial street. A corridor study is currently underway for Santa Fe between Ridgeview Road and Mur-Len Road. As part of that study the City is looking at options to make another crossing of I-35 Hwy in the vicinity of 133rd Street. This new link connection would help alleviate the traffic demand for Santa Fe. Any new connecting link would be constructed with options for bike lanes, shared use paths, sidewalks, and transit facilities to encourage different transportation modes. This 133rd Street connection would likely be a safer corridor for none motorist commuters to travel.

Scope: |
Construct Overpass over I-35 Hwy between Rawhide Street and Rogers Road at approximately 133rd Street and extend the new link of 133rd Street to Mur-len Road. All modes of transportation would be targeted to use this new link as bike, pedestrian, and transit facilities would all be incorporated with this project. Project Length is approximately 0.6 miles long. New planning and land development would occur as a result of this project as this area is targeted to be revitalized. The new roadway would be constructed to arterial street standards with a 3-lane section with bike lanes and turn lanes.
