Scope: The project is approximately 1.3 miles long and will widen US 56 to 4-lanes, from the western city limits to Poplar Drive. The intersection at Waverly Road will be improved to provide turn lanes and a traffic signal. Due to the large skew angle, curves will be specifically designed to allow trucks to travel eastbound to southbound and westbound to northbound.
