This project will connect a local transit stop at 24 highway and Susquehanna Road to Bundschu Road utilizing sidewalks and shared use path and neighborhood communities to local parks, schools, and Little Blue Trace Trail and Nature Preserve. Multiple users will be provided opportunities to choose their preferred method of travel with the improvements planned for this corridor.

Project Description: The existing roadway is a partially improved roadway that will be widened on the existing alignment with the addition of a center two-way left turn lane, curb and gutter, enclosed storm drain system. A multi-use path is proposed on the north side of the roadway and a sidewalk is proposed along the south side of the roadway. Primary users include multi-modal transportation users with improved access to Fire Station, Parks, Elementary Schools, Little Blue Trace Trail & Nature Preserve, and Transit stops located on US-24 highway.
Scope: This project will serve multiple transportation users along a 4.7-mile segment of roadway connecting residential, commercial, and activity center facilities with a 3 lane facility between Susquehanna Ridge and M-7 Highway with improvements including bicycle and pedestrian facilities throughout. Improvements are in close proximity to Fire Station #6 at the east end of the project, which will provide improved response times and safety to incoming and outgoing responses from Bundschu Road.
