I think this is a great project. I would take it a step further and name it the "Shawnee Thruway". I would make each exit off of I=435 a 2 lane exit to encourage usage of this avenue to K-7. This would offload traffic from I-70, especially during racing season.

The expansion of SM Parkway in this corridor makes sense. I am a huge fan of pedestrian & bike connection options, but I dont know how that would make sense along such a busy street. Game on if it makes sense! Long-term, Id love to see the City of Shawnee take the lead on light rail initiatives with the other area transportation authorities. There are lots of people and opinions on lots of regional committees, but most of the energy feels like it is focused on roadway expansion or bus line improvement. It would be nice to see more coordinated feasibility studies as to light rail options connected or arising out of Shawnee.
