Active Transportation, Transit: Prairie Star Parkway is an arterial street that connects residential developments to K-10 Highway as well as connections City of Lenexa, City of DeSoto, and rural Johnson County. On-street bike lanes will be provided With an enhanced roadway system transit routes can be expanded.
Project Purpose: * System expansion (added capacity) * System preservation, rehabilitation or replacement )
Project Description: New interchange needed on K-10 Hwy to serve increase demand due to economic development (and extension of Prairie Star Parkway from the City of Lenexa)
Scope: This project will construct a new K-10 interchange at Moonlight Road/Prairie Star Parkway. Improvements will include pavement, medians, curb and gutter, storm sewer, street lights, landscaping, and all work pertinent to completing the project. This will add capacity for motorists and improve travel times. Adding turn lanes at each intersection will also improve safety and capacity. New Sidewalk and/or Shared Use Path will be constructed on each side of the street will prvide safety for pedestrians and bicyclists.
