  Exercise integrated response to an intentional attack, focusing on actions needed immediately after the threat has been contained.  

Overview

This four-hour tabletop exercise will bring first- line supervisors from law enforcement and fire/EMS agencies together for an integrated response to an intentional attack. Modules will focus on key concepts associated with response after the threat has been contained. These concepts will include the establishment of incident command, the key integrated response needs to stop the bleeding and stop the dying of casualties.

Objectives

At the end of this course, students should be able to:

  • Identify the process for initial incident notification and subsequent communication within and between agencies
  • Discuss how incident command will be established at the incident site to include the transition to unified command
  • Define key integrated response activities and locations
  • Have an increased familiarity with the Regional Active Shooter framework and the ongoing work within the region.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.
Workshop runs 8 a.m. to noon
No cost to attend.

Participants should bring laptops, notetaking materials and anything else (e.g., paperwork or boards) your agency would use when managing a warm zone scene during an intentional attack.

Maximum Capacity:

This workshop can accommodate up to 60 attendees.

Target Audience:

This tabletop exercise is designed for first-line police, fire and EMS supervisors who would initially respond to the scene of an intentional attack.
