National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses provide additional training to personnel responsible for managing incidents of greater complexity than those typically encountered during routine operations. Priority registration is reserved for emergency services personnel within the MARC region and Missouri Region A. There is no charge for attending, but registration is required.



L956: All Hazard Position Specific Liaison Officer • Hours: 16
 
 

This course provides local and state-level emergency
responders with an understanding of the duties,
responsibilities and capabilities of an effective liaison
officer. Students will participate in exercises, simulations, and discussions and complete a final exam.

Required prerequisites include: IS 100, IS 200, IS 700, IS 800, ICS 300 and ICS 400.

Complete all sections, #1 through #22b and include your FEMA Student Identification (SID) number required (# 3). To create or retrieve your SID visit: https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid. Be sure to document Pre-requisite requirements #10 (list course dates completed/include copies of certificates of completion or transcript) on an additional attachment.

Priority registration is reserved for emergency services personnel in the nine-county Kansas City metropolitan area: Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri and Leavenworth, Johnson, Miami and Wyandotte counties in Kansas area. There is no cost to attend. Class size is limited to 30.
