Kansas City's Medicine Cabinet

WHAT IF YOU COULDN'T AFFORD THE MEDICAL CARE YOU NEED?

Every day hundreds of Kansas City area families are forced to choose between buying groceries, paying for rent or taking care of their medical need.  Expensive prescriptions, rising insurance costs and changing government programs are driving more people to seek emergency medical assistance for the first time.

Now, families facing immediate, short-term crisis related medical needs can apply for help through Kansas City's Medicine Cabinet, LLC. a program of the Baptist-Trinity Lutheran Legacy Foundation.

The Foundation has committed $400,000 in funds for the third year of the program, to run from July 2007 to June 2008.  Since its inception, the program has assisted over 2,400 individuals and provided over $370,000 in direct client assistance.

A portion of the funds are being provided to establish and maintain Kansas City's Medicine Chest which contains over the counter health and medical needs that clients are unable to purchase.  Donations of new, unopened non-prescription medical items are gratefully accepted.

Kansas City's Medicine Cabinet provides emergency assistance for medical needs:

    Dental Emergencies
