Become an advanced paramedic working to help patients increase access to primary and preventive care and decrease use of emergency departments Please join us Nov. 6–17 for the Kansas City region's new Community Paramedic Training Program The Central Jackson County Fire Protection District and the Mid-America Regional Council Emergency Rescue Committee are pleased to announce the launch of a new Community Paramedic Training Program beginning on Nov. 6, 2017. The community-based program will train paramedics to operate in expanded roles to provide non-emergency health services and help identify patient needs for local services. The training will allow paramedics to apply for the Missouri Community Paramedic certification. WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Paramedics in the Kansas City region are encouraged to enroll in this course. Prerequisite for the class is paramedic certification or licensure. Kansas paramedic-licensed participants from MARC member organizations are also welcome to enroll in the program. The class consists of 60 class hours (lecture and lab) and 40 clinical hours (clinical sites, insurance and scheduling included). Class participants should complete clinical hours within six months of didactic completion. TOPICS TO BE COVERED:
CEUs: The course meets the requirements for Community Paramedic Certification for the state of Missouri (19 CSR 30-40.800). REGISTRATION: To register, click on the following link: COURSE FEE: The cost of this training is normally $950, but is reduced to $150 only for the 2017 program due to generous support from the Healthcare Foundation of Greater Kansas City (HCFGKC). Priority will be given to agencies within HCFGKC's region. Individuals outside this area will be notified if space allows.
