  ICS-300: Intermediate Incident Command System  

This course covers strategies for emergency response to all-hazard incidents that involve ICS coordination. This course uses exercises in a team environment to facilitate discussion. Participants learn about how the National Incident Management System supports handling expanding incidents and will develop and incident management process in a simulated incident. This course explains ICS event management processes for supervisors.

ICS-300 Prerequisites:
Successful completion of accredited ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700 and ICS-800. See details below under Important Notes.

  • ICS-400: Advanced Incident Command System

    This is the final course in the four-part series and provides training on resource management requirements of an ICS. This course reviews issues that make an incident complex and ways to analyze an incident. Participants will leave with a better understanding of how Unified Command functions during a multi-jurisdiction, multi-agency incident and the responsibilities of agency representatives during an incident.

    ICS-400 Prerequisites:
    Successful completion of accredited ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-300, ICS-700 and ICS-800. See details below under Important Notes.

    Important notes:

    Prerequisites: Upon registration, participants need to provide GTI a copy of all prerequisite certifications. A transcript or copy of each certification may be delivered electronically to gti@marc.org. If the prerequisite information is not received one week prior to the course, we are unable to approve your registration.

    PRIORITY REGISTRATION  - WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
    The National Incident Management System (NIMS) Training Program identifies the ICS 300 and 400 level courses for emergency response personnel who require advanced knowledge and application of ICS and training is required to those currently serving in their positions as mid-level and senior level response supervisors (Strike Team Task Force, Unit Leaders, Division Group Supervisors, Branch Directors, Command and General Staff, Department Heads, Unified Commanders, Emergency Managers, and Emergency Center Operation Center Managers).

    Priority registration is reserved for emergency services personnel in the nine-county Kansas City metropolitan area: Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri and Leavenworth, Johnson, Miami and Wyandotte counties in Kansas. Due to grant requirements, we are not able to accept registrations from outside the states of Kansas or Missouri. If you are from outside the nine-county Kansas City region please contact your local emergency manager for details on emergency services training.

    Note: If you are interested in being considered for the course, but your agency does not require completion of ICS-300/400, please email gti@marc.org and asked to be placed on the waitlist. You will be notified if a seat in the course becomes available. There is no charge for attending, but registration is required.
