Is your long-term care facility working to increase emergency preparedness?
If so, register today for an April 5 exercise sponsored by the MARC Health Care Coalition and Community Disaster Resiliency Network.
The Facility-based Functional Community Exercise with a SIM CELL for long-term care facilities and other service providers takes place on Friday, April 5 from noon–3 p.m. This exercise will allow your facility to test a component of your emergency operations plan with staff and help build community relationships between emergency managers, responders and other entities your facility invites to participate.
OBJECTIVES:
- Assess a facility's ability to activate their emergency operations plans and respond to the effects of a power outage.
- Exercise the coordination between facilities and local emergency managers, first responders and entities that a facility may have partnering agreements with during an emergency event.
- Determine the ability of the facility and HCC to meet transportation requests and needs of clients during a power outage scenario.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Long-term care facilities and other service providers are encouraged to participate.

NOTE: Please register each facility location that would like to participate and provide the information of the individual who will be the contact at that facility. There will be a communications check at 11:40 a.m., so please be ready to participate at that time.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: Your Emergency Operations Plan, and the following documents which will be provided prior to the exercise: Exercise Evaluation Guides and the Player’s Guide.
