The Health Care Coalition (HCC) and Community Disaster Resiliency Network (CDRN) invite you to participate in the Facility-based Functional Community Exercise with a SIM CELL for Long Term Care (LTC) and other service providers on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 12–3 p.m.This functional exercise will allow a facility to test a component of their emergency operations plan with their staff and build community relationships between emergency managers, responders, and other entities that your facility invites to participate.

OBJECTIVES:

• Assess a facility's ability to activate their emergency operations plans and respond to the effects of a power outage.
• Exercise the coordination between facilities and their local emergency managers, first responders, and entities who a facility may have partnering agreements with during an emergency event.
• Evaluate/align the understanding of capabilities during a disaster between emergency management, first responders, facilities and entities who a facility may have partnering agreements with based on requests to the SIM CELL and ability to fulfill those requests.
• Determine a facility’s and the HCC’s ability to meet transportation requests and needs of clients during a power outage scenario.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Health care personnel and representatives employed at assisted living facilities, continuing care retirement communities and skilled nursing facilities in the bistate area.

PARKING: Lakeview Village is located at 9100 Park Street in Lenexa, Kansas. View map. The facility has a large campus with several high rises with parking available within walking distance. Parking is available in front of the event location, however spaces are limited. Arrive early to ensure parking is available.
